[HIGH FIVE] We gave a High Five to Bre Browning (@easybreezyfit), a Coach at CUT SEVEN, founder of One Percent Training, and a Nutrition Coach at Precision Nutrition.
WellcommDC: Where do you work…out?
Bre Browning: When I’m not on the red turf at CUT SEVEN, you can find me running my personal training business called One Percent Training at Training Ground Bethesda, or on the field coaching elite girls footy (soccer) for DC ELEVEN. If I’m not sweating at CUT, I’m training alone or with my husband at Life Time.
WDC: What does wellness mean to you?
BB: Wellness means living a quality life that is balanced between our physical, mental, and spiritual health. Part of wellness is having a sense of purpose and living out your true, authentic life.
WDC: What are your wellness goals over the next twelve months?
BB: My goal over the next year is to maintain my balance. I’ve realized how important it is for me to fill my cup up first, before I pour into others. The best part about coaching is getting to help people become better versions of themselves. But as coaches, we can’t do that wholeheartedly if we’re not also living out a high quality life - or at least trying to.
WDC: Who are some people who inspire you, motivate you, or keep you accountable when it comes to your wellness?
BB: Call me clichè, but my husband, Detrek Browning (@detrekb), is my biggest inspiration and supporter. He is a pro basketball player in Poland this season, so he understands the discipline it takes to be successful and show up with grace everyday. He is a constant voice in my ear reminding me that “hard work pays off, but balancing your time and energy is just as important.” He also reminds me how valuable gratitude is. When you’re grateful for the things around you, your whole mindset shifts.
WDC: What advice would you share with someone looking to change their wellness routine?
BB: Two things:
First, start small and focus on one thing at a time. It’s so easy to get caught up in the moment and feel overwhelmed. Prioritize what’s most important to you first, and start there!
Second, surround yourself with like minded people. Community is everything! Find people who are goal oriented. “I believe in the saying, “You are who you surround yourself with,” and I lean heavily on my family and coaches, captains, and athletes at CUT SEVEN.” Shout outs to Chris Perrin (@chrisperrin7) and Alex Perrin (@alex.perrin7) for creating a team like this.
