[HIGH FIVE] We gave a High Five to Christine Ho (@christine.who), an Instructor at CorePower Yoga, Alo Yoga Studios, and Equinox.
WellcommDC: Where do you work…out?
Christine Ho: My home base is CityCenter DC, but you can also find me at Alo Yoga Studios and Equinox teaching yoga sculpt, flow and HIIT classes. When I’m not teaching, I love to flow with Whit Murray (@hiwhit) at SoulFire Collective Yoga, take main studio classes at Equinox or sculpt with Julia Ellings (@juliaellings) and Brianna Relucio (@briannarelucio) at CorePower Yoga.
WDC: What does wellness mean to you?
CH: To me, wellness is spending time outside of your 9-5 to treat yourself and give your body what it needs to carry you through your day to day. I think it could look different for everyone. For me, that includes finding movement everyday, getting a little sweet treat here and there, and spending time with people who fill my cup.
WDC: What are your wellness goals over the next twelve months?
CH: I’m working on improving my endurance and bringing more cardio into my routine, as well as adding in more meditation and mindfulness into my practice! While I love a high-energy, high-intensity class, I’m looking to also find time to slow down and create more balance in my wellness routine.
WDC: Who are some people who inspire you, motivate you, or keep you accountable when it comes to your wellness?
CH: This might be corny, but my students and fellow group fitness instructors really inspire me to push myself and continue to show up. I am always so blown away by my students’ commitment and their progress, and I want to continue improving on my instruction to deliver high quality classes to support their journey. I believe that continuing to take classes and staying curious is a huge component of how I grow as an instructor, so I am consistently taking group fitness classes around the city to learn from other teachers.
WDC: What advice would you share with someone looking to change their wellness routine?
CH: I always tell my students to listen to their body! I’ve gone through various phases in my own wellness journey, and my North Star has always been to find the workout that you really look forward to and one that you get excited for. If your current workout routine is not bringing you joy or you find yourself dreading your next workout class, take the opportunity to switch it up and try something new.

[REVIEW] We were among the over 100 strong who signed up for CUT SEVEN’s first annual CAMP CUT at Walter Pierce Field on Saturday, and it did not disappoint. This event had everything: games, snacks, puppies, and, most important of all, nostalgic camp vibes that helped us feel like a kid again. CUT SEVEN’s Cofounder Alex Perrin (@alex.perrin7) and the CUT team led participants through a series of ice breakers followed by three rounds of team-based competitions, from transferring water from bucket to bucket using a sponge (but no hands!) to an adult-sized rendition of Hungry Hungry Hippos to a team relay involving a series of plastic ball tosses and head and glute-centered medicine ball pushes. The good vibes not only brought up memories of field days in our youth: they resonated with the friendly, warm atmosphere we’re accustomed to at Cut classes from instructors and participants alike. Check out an exclusive message from Alex and the CUT team here where they recap CAMP CUT and preview their upcoming event you won’t want to miss! [Camp’s Over, But Friday Night’s Alright]
