[HIGH FIVE] We gave a High Five to Lauren Cook (@laurencook29), owner of Barre3 DC 14th Street.
WellcommDC: Where do you work…out?
Lauren Cook: Barre3 DC - 14th Street!
WDC: What does “wellness” mean to you?
LC: To me, wellness means finding balance between the different spheres of my life (physically, mentally, emotionally, etc) at this moment in time. Wellness looks and feels very different from person to person and takes a great deal of awareness and confidence, especially in today's fast-paced and high-pressure world.
WDC: What motivates you to take care of your wellness?
LC: Family & friends. I am motivated to take care of myself so I can show up for them.
WDC: What are your wellness goals over the next twelve months?
LC: Get comfortable with stillness. I have always been a very active person who has a hard time saying no or missing out. In 2024, I want to be realistic about my priorities so I can have more rest and stillness in my daily life.
WDC: What advice would you share with someone looking to change their wellness routine?
LC: Reflect! Understand the root of the desire to change and tackle that.
