[HIGH FIVE] We gave a High Five to Raine McKeython (@coachrainestorm), Founder of The Team, a transformation coaching program in Washington, DC.

WellcommDC: Where do you work…out?

Raine McKeython: I like to say “the city is my playground”, and it’s been that way since I was a kid.

From my middle school days running The Exorcist Stairs in Georgetown, to the track and stairs at Cardozo, to the pull-up bars at Carter Barron. I even used to break into the Burr gymnasium at Howard University to workout when I was home in between basketball seasons.

Lately, I work out mainly at Sweat DC, the best gym in DC hands-down.

WDC: What does “wellness” mean to you?

RM: Wellness to me means having full confidence in your ability to stay healthy for the long-term, both mentally and physically.

Look different for everybody, but we all have the same goal of inner peace especially when thinking about the future.

WDC: What are your wellness goals over the next twelve months?

RM: Achieve a 50 inch vertical jump AND shoot a score under 90 in golf.

WDC: Who are some people who inspire you, motivate you, or keep you accountable when it comes to your wellness?

RM: Myself, my Mom and Dad, my Girlfriend, Kobe Bryant and Kanye West.

WDC: What advice would you share with someone looking to change their wellness routine?

RM: You already have the power to change. You just have to get out of your own way.
