[HIGH FIVE] We gave a High Five to Guyton Mathews IV (@gmcm_iv), an instructor at HUSTLE DMV.

WellcommDC: Where do you work…out?

Guyton Mathews IV: When I'm not coaching at HUSTLE DMV, I pop in to take classes there from my fellow coaches who are dope humans. I also get to hang out with our awesome clients and sweat with them! Outside of that, I workout at SWEAT DC to lift weights or run outside. I also love a good game of volleyball with friends.

WDC: What does “wellness” mean to you?

GMIV: Taking the time to refill your cup. We give so much energy to others throughout the day, and in order to be our best, it's vital to pour back into ourselves daily.

WDC: What are your wellness goals over the next twelve months?

GMIV: I feel like my goals are always changing, but one thing that is constant is trying to stay consistent with my workouts, drinking water, and laughing at least once a day.

WDC: Who are some people who inspire you, motivate you, or keep you accountable when it comes to your wellness?

GMIV: There are so many people in the wellness space in the DMV that inspire me. Way too many to name. I kind of take inspiration from all the leaders in the space and use that as motivation to keep working towards my goals. Additionally, I get so much inspiration from the people who show up to class day in and out and give their all for every workout. That’s where the magic lies.

WDC: What advice would you share with someone looking to change their wellness routine?

GMIV: Try new things, figure out what works for you, and stick with it! An accountability buddy always helps, too. We're always stronger when we have a team working alongside us.
