[HIGH FIVE] We gave a High Five to Kristina Dimitrievski (@kristina.dimitrievski), a Pro Coach at [solidcore] in Washington, DC.

WellcommDC: Where do you work…out?

Kristina Dimitrievski: The most consistent place I work out is [solidcore]. Being able to push your limits while keeping the work low impact has helped me bounce back from injuries over the years while preventing future ones. Doing this in a dark room with your friends makes it that much better. Aside from [solidcore], I’ll occasionally jump into a Rumble or barre class. I love mixing it up depending on how I’m feeling!

WDC: What does “wellness” mean to you?

KD: Understanding and having a clear picture of where you are in terms of your mental, physical, and emotional health. Actively working to improve your lifestyle and having a strong support system to help keep you in check is also a huge factor to promote growth in these areas.

WDC: What motivates you to take care of your wellness?

KD: Knowing and having experienced what it feels like to live a truly healthy, balanced lifestyle as well as what it feels like to be burnt out. Being able to identify where I am on that spectrum motivates me to quickly change what isn’t improving my quality of life.

WDC: What are your wellness goals over the next twelve months?

KD: Over the next twelve months, I’m hoping to establish and stick to a solid workout routine that aligns with my fitness goals, find more effective ways to manage my stress and anxiety, and push myself to say “yes” to more new experiences, no matter how far out of my comfort zone they are.

WDC: What advice would you share with someone looking to change their wellness routine?

KD: Don’t compare yourself to others, align your workouts with how you’re feeling, and don’t be afraid to take a day off. Listen to your body. Switching up (or even establishing) a wellness routine can be overwhelming in and of itself. Remind yourself that wellness as a whole includes your body and mind, so what good is it to push yourself too far if you’re not in the right headspace?
