[HIGH FIVE] We gave a High Five to Lindsay Bishop @lindsay_bishop, a Washington, DC based fitness expert and founding instructor at Hustle DMV.
WellcommDC: Where do you work…out?
Lindsay Bishop: When I'm not on the mic at HUSTLE, you can catch me taking my team's strength & cycle classes at HUSTLE, hopping into a CorePower Yoga Sculpt class, or taking a reformer pilates class at the Method Room.
WDC: What does “wellness” mean to you?
LB: Wellness to me means optimal balance in all areas of your life. It also means feeling and functioning at your best to allow you to do all the things you love.
WDC: What are your wellness goals over the next twelve months?
LB: Where do I begin?! I'm heavily focused on building a sustainable cross-training schedule between coaching. I work a highly competitive 9-5 in the corporate world so taking care of my mental health is key each day. I'm challenging myself to take more walks during the day and integrating more meditation in my daily routine when it feels right. Lastly, I've made rest & recovery a big focus the past three months and hope to continue that trend. I recently got an Oura Ring and have been loving the data that comes with it to help me stay on track with my sleep and recovery.
WDC: Who are some people who inspire you, motivate you, or keep you accountable when it comes to your wellness?
LB: I really am inspired by each of my teammates at HUSTLE, and all for different reasons. Our leader, @SunnyMaeerryday complete badass, founded HUSTLE - she understands vision but more importantly, she understands how to execute, and she does it extremely well. She keeps me inspired.
WDC: What advice would you share with someone looking to change their wellness routine?
LB: I believe If you're serious about change, especially in a wellness routine- you have to start small and be realistic. Learning how to habit-stack your wellness routine is something that takes time but can be achieved faster with people in your circle that can help you and have done it before. I think if you can teach yourself how to navigate the resistance that comes with any kind of change- you'll go far.

[REVIEW] We sweated it out on Sunday morning for a 60-minute power flow class taught by the amazing Rachaelle "ChaCha" King (@king_chachaaa) at SoulFire Collective Yoga in Bethesda, MD.
ChaCha’s class was challenging, but supportive in the same breath. Her voice and demeanor were incredibly soothing, and she offered helpful modifications during the class. ChaCha’s intention for the class centered around dreams, and she curated a unique themed playlist that ranged from songs like “Dreams” by the Cranberries to “Dream On” by Aerosmith. Our favorite part of ChaCha’s class had to be ending in savasana with a refreshing cold lavender towel.
ChaCha’s class is very popular, so be sure to sign up and arrive early to snag your spot. Head around the block after class and treat yourself to coffee and a fresh croissant from Tout de Sweet. [HT Jude Al-Hmoud (@judealhmoud)]
[Cherry Blossom Run] We’ve reached full bloom for pre-race hype around the Credit Union Cherry Blossom Run. The 5K race takes place on Saturday, April 6th and the 10M on Sunday, April 7th. [Full Bloom]
