[HIGH FIVE] We gave a High Five to Reilly Knecht (@reillykathrynn), WellcommDC’s new Community Manager. The latest member of our WellcommDC team, Reilly will be leading our Community Classes around the DMV. Welcome, Reilly!

WellcommDC: Where do you work…out?

Reilly Knecht: Equinox Anthem Row & Sports Club are my daily drivers! I'm hitting the weights Monday - Friday with a sprinkle of hot yoga & pilates fusion. On the weekends, I'm in the Barry’s Dupont red room. To get my 12,000 steps per day, you'll find me pounding the pavement across the District.

WDC: What does wellness mean to you?

RK: Wellness, to me, means the little rituals that keep me energized and stress-free. I never leave home without my oversized pink 64 oz Stanley water bottle. I track my macros daily to ensure I’m hitting my goals, and I plan my week around my workouts to make sure I move every single day—whether I’m sweating it out at the gym or choosing to walk to meet friends and run errands instead of driving. And yes, I still make time for life’s little pleasures—a glass of red wine with friends, the occasional cheeseburger on my couch, or popcorn at the theater with my little movie club. My routine is all about balance, and wellness means taking the proper steps to achieve daily goals and ensure my body and brain are fully fueled.

WDC: What are your wellness goals over the next twelve months?

RK: Keeping the balance: staying regimented while giving myself grace to live life to the fullest, and of course, getting to know the DMV's fitness community through WellcommDC. I can't wait to learn more about the people and places that help make our community the fittest locale in the nation.

WDC: Who are some people who inspire you, motivate you, or keep you accountable when it comes to your wellness?

RK: My trainer: Sydney O’Neal (@syd.oneal).

WDC: What advice would you share with someone looking to change their wellness routine?

RK: Make it social—aka, get involved with WellcommDC! Surround yourself with people who also hold their own wellness and goals in high regard. Find some friends to incline walk and talk on the treadmill, or round up a couple of pals for Barry’s or SoulCycle (maybe followed by a cute brunch?). Make movement part of your life, not just a chore, and you'll find it becomes a joyful celebration of your body—not a forced activity to justify some lavish meal.

BONUS: What are you looking forward to as WellcommDC’s Community Manager?

RK: I’m all about bringing people together! I’m excited to reconnect with old friends, welcome new ones, meet amazing fitness coaches across the DMV, and grow our community. I’m here to help connect people to the vibrant and welcoming WellcommDC community. More to come!
